Swimmers Battle Bisons
The Alfred State swim team had some solid performances as they hosted Bethany on Friday night. Bethany earned a 101-78 victory in the men's competition and a 74-24 win on the women's side.
Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) led the men with a 1st place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:01.71) and a 2nd place finish in the 200 IM (2:16.95). Rob Kelso (Middletown) was 2nd in the 50 free (25.80) and Tim Seitzinger (Bel Air, MD) was 2nd in the 100 butterfly (1:03.05).
The men's 200 medley relay team of Cutler, Tim Berry (Midlakes), Seitzinger, and Chad Blunt (Horseheads) finished 2nd in 1:58.65.
Eryn Cochran (Alfred) won the 200 IM in 2:43.61 and was 2nd in the breaststroke (1:22.43) to lead the women's team.
The Pioneers are back in action in two weeks when they travel to Buffalo State for a 1 p.m. meet.
