Men's Soccer Announces 2017 Schedule
The Alfred State men's soccer team will look to continue to add to their win total as they enter the 2017 season. The 2017 schedule features 16 games with eight games slated for the home turf at Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers will open up the season with a pair of home games, 9/1 vs. SUNY Delhi and 9/3 vs. Medaille. The next weekend they head to Fredonia for the Blue Devil Classic (9/8 vs. Fredonia and 9/9 vs. Buffalo State). After a midweek game vs. Pitt Bradford (9/13) the team returns home for a three game homestand to wrap up the September slate, 9/15 vs. D'Youville, 9/19 vs. SUNY Poly, and 9/24 vs. Penn State Beaver.
October starts with a pair of road games vs. St. John Fisher (10/4) and SUNY ESF (10/7) before the team returns home for their final homestand. In their final homestand the Pioneers battle Nazareth (10/11), Villa Maria (10/16), and Houghton (10/19). The team ends the season with three road contests (10/21 at Canton, 10/25 at Hilbert, and 10/28 at Geneva).
The ACAA Championships will be held November 4-5 in Portland, ME
The 2016 team finished 6-12 after finishing 4-11-2 in 2015. The team is entering its third season under the direction of Jonathan Hoover.
