4x800 Qualifies for ECAC's

The Alfred State women's 4x800 relay team earned a spot in the ECAC Championships on Friday at day one New York State Championships. 

The relay team of Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), Kelly Healy (Maple Hill), Mariah Smith (Hornell), and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) crossed the finish line in 9:56.20 to earn 8th place. Healy broke her personal record by six seconds in the race. The ECAC Championship will take place May 18-19 in Westfield, MA.

Dominique Shirley (Bronx/Harry Truman) set a new personal record in the 400 hurdles (72.07).

The men's 4x800 relay team of Trevor Stiles (Hornell), Mitchell Marcin (Frontier), Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) and Austin Demberg (Minisink Valley) finished 10th in 8:30.17.

Brandon Teboe (Falconer) was 10th in the pole vault with a leap of 4.05.

The blue & gold are back in action tomorrow at the NYS Championships. Action begins at 10 a.m. at RPI.
