Pioneers Tripped up by Bradford

The Alfred State men's soccer team outshot Pitt-Bradford 16 to 14 but fell 3-1 to the Panthers on Sunday afternoon.  The Pioneers fall to 1-4 on the year while UPB improves to 3-4.

Josiah Blick got the Panthers on the board in the 16th minute of the contest after getting a pass from Nicholas Walker.  Brian Bao made it 2-0, 16 minutes later when he scored after getting a pass from Nathaniel Truett.

Kyle Jones (Wilson) cut the lead to one late in the 1st half (41st minute) when he scored his fourth goal of the season after getting a long pass from Michael Yacuzzo (East Rochester).

Nicholas Walker scored just 2:25 into the 2nd half to give the Panthers back their two goal lead.  Brian Bao was credited with the assist.

Nick Smith (Arkport) made his season debut in net and made five saves while Adam Forster and Colin Frownfelter combined to make seven saves for Bradford.

The Pioneers complete their long roadtrip on Saturday when they take on Hilbert College at 1 p.m.
