Pioneers Lose Heartbreaker to Keuka

Leandro Curran scored in the 108th minute to lift Keuka College to a 2-1 double OT victory over Alfred State on Thursday evening.  The win lifts the Storm to 3-3-1 on the year and drops the Pioneers to 1-5.

Neither team could get on the board in the 1st half with Keuka holding a 10 to 3 shot advantage.

Ben Schreiber made it 1-0 in the 52nd minute when his scored after getting long lead pass from Paulin Kolodja.

Brian Markel (Arkport) scored his first collegiate goal 22 minutes later to tie it up.  Markel headed the ball in to the far corner after getting a corner kick from Colby Wright (Livonia).

Both teams had chances to win the game in regulation but both goalies kept the game knotted at 1-1.  

Curran's winning goal at 1:07.10 of the contest came when he flicked a pass from Kolodja into the side of the net to send the Storm players into celebration.

Keuka held a 20 to 13 shot advantage in the contest.  Pioneer goalkeeper Nick Smith (Arkport) made 10 saves in the contest while Preston Vick made four.

The blue & gold are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Wells College for a 3 p.m. tilt with the Express.
