Canton Hops Past Pioneers

The SUNY Canton men's soccer team scored twice in the games first 11:41 and never looked back in a 3-1 victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.  The Kangaroos improve to 8-5 while the Pioneers are 2-9.

After Canton scored twice early, Nick Peraino (Geneseo) cut the lead to 2-1 with his first goal of the season.  Damon Allen (Fillmore) picked up the assist.

Jose Menedez added an insurance goal and gave the Roos back their two goal lead in the first minute of the 2nd half.

Canton held a 21 to 7 shot advantage on the day.  Nick Smith (Arkport) made seven saves for the blue & gold.

Alfred State returns to action on Sunday when they host Erie CC at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
