Malenfant Garnered Fifth Place At The NCAA National Championship

La Crosse, WI- The Alfred State men's wrestling team's Sean Malenfant notched fifth place at the NCAA National Championship. Sean Malenfant went 4-2 on the weekend.

In today's action, Malenfant started the day with a 4-2 decision over Jack Ryan of Oneonta State. In that match, his notched a takedown and an escape. After a loss in his match, he earned a spot in the fifth-place match. Malenfant would end the season with a 10-1 major decision win over Dylan Wellbaum of Adrian. In that match, Malenfant tallied three takedowns, and a riding time point.

Malenfant started his day with a 5-0 decision win over Gavin Layman (Ohio Northern). In that match, he notched a takedown, an escape, and a riding time point. He would lose his second match to Sampson Wilkins of Castleton, before getting a 6:15 fall over Trent Furman (NYU) two advance to day two of the tournament.

Zack Levey went 1-2 on the day, his lone victory came by way of fall in 3:59 against Danny Haws of Centenary. Levey finishes his season with a 30-5 overall record.
