Malenfant & Levey Are Headed To The NCAA National Tournament

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Men's Wrestling team are headed to La Crosse, WI, for the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships for the first time in program history. Alfred State will have two Pioneers taking the mat this weekend in Sean Malenfant and Zach Levey.

Sean Malenfant punched his ticket to the National Tournament for the first time in his career. Malenfant finished the season with a 32-2 record, on his way to becoming an NCAA Regional Champion. Malenfant will be the fifth seed in the 184-weight class and will start his weekend on Friday morning against Gavin Layman (Ohio Northern) in match 79.

Zach Levey became an NCAA Qualifier for the second time in his college career in the 133-weight class. Levey tallied a 29-3 overall record, and place second in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Levey will be unseeded in the tournament; he will start his weekend Friday morning in match four against Desmond Diggs of Mount St. Joseph.
