Lady Spikers Return to Nationals as #3 Seed

The Alfred State volleyball team will return to the USCAA National Championships for the third straight year. The 23-4 Lady Pioneers will head to Virginia Beach, VA with the #3 seed.

Playing in Pool B of the tournament, Alfred State will battle with defending champion Florida College (#2 seed), Illinois Tech (#6 seed), Carlow (PA) University (#7 seed), and New Hampshire Tech (#10 seed).

Pool A features top seed Florida National, Maine Fort Kent (#4 seed), Rochester (MI) College (#5 seed), St. Mary's of the Woods (#8 seed) and the PSUAC Champion (#9 seed).

Alfred State has battled Carlow and Florida in past USCAA Tournaments and will actually compete vs. Illinois Tech this weekend at the ACAA Championships. In the other pool, the Lady Pioneers defeated Maine Fort Kent earlier this season and has played both Rochester and St. Mary's of the Woods in past national tournaments.

The Lady Pioneers roster features eight players that will be making their third trip to USCAA Nationals while two others will be making their second trip.

Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) leads the Lady Pioneers with 292 kills. She also has 250 digs and 65 service aces. Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) leads the team with a .376 hitting percentage. She has recorded 208 kills and has 68 blocks. Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) has passed out 799 assists, Madison Webster (Corning) has 362 digs, and Jessica Padley (Sweet Home) has 198 kills.
