Godfrey, Szpaicher, and Hamilton Honored by AVCA
A trio of Alfred State volleyball players have been named to the USCAA All-American team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Bryanna Godfrey (Tioga) and Madison Szpaicher (Ellicottville) were 1st team selections while Janae Hamilton (Ellicottville) was named honorable mention.
Godfrey, who was previously named 1st team USCAA All-American and a 2nd team ECAC North All-Star, led the Lady Pioneers with 355 kills (3.2 per set). She also averaged 3.89 points, 2.67 digs, and 0.61 aces per set.
Szpaicher adds this honor after being selected as a 2nd team USCAA All-American and an USCAA All-Academic. Szpaicher transitioned to the setter this season and passed out 962 assists (8.51 assists per set). She also had 328 digs, 110 kills, 51 service aces, and 42 blocks.
Hamilton, a honorable mention USCAA All-American and a 2nd team ECAC North All-Star, led the team averaged 2.42 kills per set and 0.80 blocks. She led the team with a .370 hitting percentage.
