David Benson and Jean Baptiste named All-AMCC

Benson and Kagde Named All-AMCC

David Benson (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and Jean Baptiste Kagde (Rochester/Early College) have been named All-AMCC after helping Alfred State to their first appearance in the conference tournament.

Benson, a senior defender, was named to the 2nd team. He appeared in 13 games this season and scored a goal and passed out two assists. His goal was scored vs. Utica and picked up assists vs. Hilbert and vs. Medaille in the AMCC semifinals. 

Kagde, a first year defender, was named 3rd team. He played in 15 games and scored twice and passed out an assist. He scored vs. Pitt-Greensburg and Hilbert and passed out an assist vs. Pitt-Bradford. 

Benson and Kagde were key to the defensive unit that allowed just 31 goals in 18 games and recorded five shutouts.

Andres Mateos (Batavia) and Jack Leahy (Pittsford Sutherland) were named to the AMCC All-Tournament for their play in the Pioneers two postseason matches. 

Alfred State finished the season 7-11 and advanced to the AMCC semifinals.
