Pioneers Notched 17 Top-10 Finishes

Rochester, NY- The Alfred State men's track and field team tallied 17 top-10 finishes and the Cardinal Classic

Mekhi Christensen ran 11.23 in the 100-meter final for seventh place. Then in the 800-meter final, Mamadou Barry finished 2:02.70 for seventh place. Derek Walter would run a 59.23 in the 400-meter hurdles to finish in sixth.

In the steeplechase final, Maxwell Chiarella finished in 10:49.01 for sixth place. in the long jump, Isaac Rivet finished third with a best jump of 6.34 meters, while Aden Alexander finished in eighth with a best jump of 6.21 meters. Rivet followed with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a best jump of 11.93 meters.

In the discus throw, Brandon Russell took second with a best throw of 40.08 meters. Also in that event, Greg Raymond finished sixth, while Kyle Kapichok finished eighth. In the shot put, Jairo Agosto and Tyler Lantrip finished in ninth and 10^th respectively. Lantrip would come ninth in the hammer throw with a best throw of 41.57 meters. While Kapichok finished fourth in the javelin throw, followed by Derek Walter in eighth.

The team of Nicholas Florczuk, Rivet, Alexander, and Christensen came in second in the 4x100, while the team of Walter, Brian Clark, Barry, and Eddie Scroxton came in second in the 4x400.
