Cross Country Places 18th at Geneseo

The Alfred State cross country team each finished 18th at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational at Letchworth Park on Saturday.  The men scored a 526 while the women scored a 607.

Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) led the Pioneer men with a 135th place finish.  He finished the 8k course in 28:11.8.  Joe Seitz (Williamsville) finished 146 (28:26.6), James Westman (Fonda-Fultonville) was 148 (28:28.3), and Dominic Freudenvoll (Greece Arcadia) was 182 (29:15.3). Kyle Glaub (West Seneca) was fifth man in with a 222nd place finish (30:42.9).

The Geneseo men won the overall title with a score of 34.  20 teams competed in the race.

Kim Lupo (Auburn) led the women in the 6k course with a 204th place finish (26:32.4).  Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) was 230 (27:20.3), Mikaela Shaw (Attica) was 251 (29:22.1), and Leah Foley (Marion) was 256 (29:57.5).  Katherine Gelser (Keshequa) was fifth in for Alfred State with a 268th place finish (34:48.7).

Geneseo also took the women's title with a score of 55.  Athletes from 20 teams competed in the race.

The Pioneers have a few weeks off before competing at the New York Championships on October 26th at Hamilton College.
