Alfred State Mourns the Passing of Damian Hyman

The Alfred State athletic department mourns the passing of former men's basketball player Damian Hyman. Hyman was a member of the Pioneer basketball team between 2004-2006.

Coach Jerry Jusianiec remembers the heart and passion that Hyman displayed on and off the court. "Damian lived life with a smile. He not only displayed energy and passion on the court but was a great person, teammate, and friend. He reconnected with our team just a couple days before he passed when we played in New York City and was and will always be a true Pioneer."

Hyman appeared in 53 games during his career at Alfred State. He scored 908 points, grabbed 378 rebounds, and passed out 175 assists. He was selected 1st team All-Region and 1st team All-WNYAC following his sophomore season.

After Alfred State, Hyman went on to play at Lincoln (PA) University and spent some time playing a variety of semi-pro teams after graduation.

Visitation will be held on January 27th between 5 - 8 p.m. at Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church (3751 White Plains Road, Bronx, NY 10467). The service will be held on January 28th at 11 a.m. in the same location.
