The Alfred State men's basketball team earned a 76-67 victory over SUNY Delhi on Sunday. The Pioneers have won nine of their last 14 games.
The Pioneers led 39-30 at halftime but the Broncos came out of the break and went on a 25-6 run to grab a 10-point lead. Alfred State chipped away and took the lead back for good, 60-59, after a three-pointer by Justin Wallace (Mt. Vernon/Mt. St. Michael). The Pioneers finished the final 7:29 of the contest on a 16 to 8 run.
Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) led five Pioneers in double-figures with 14 points. Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) and Dante Jordan (New York/Law & Public Service) both finished with 12 while Sayquan Chambers (Queens/Richmond Hill) and Marcus Rhett (Middletown) both chipped in 11.
The blue & gold return to action on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when they battle Hilbert. The men's basketball team has teamed with Autism Speaks to raise money and awareness. Event Press Release
