Davis Named USCAA All-American

Alfred State senior guard Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) was named a honorable mention USCAA All-American at the National Championship banquet last week. 

Davis had an outstanding season distributing the ball for the blue & gold. He led the USCAA in assists with 220 assists, an average of 8.5 per game. He averaged a full assist more than anyone else in the USCAA. He passed out over 10 assists in eight games and had more than eight assists in 15 games.

On top of his assists, Davis scored 260 points, grabbed 106 rebounds, and was credited with 56 steals. He shot 42.1% from the field and hit 65.5% of his foul shot opportunities.

His best performance of the year came in a victory over Pitt Bradford. In the game he passed out a season high 17 assists and scored seven points. He scored a season high 18 points in a road contest at Berkeley.

For his two-year career, transferred to Alfred State from Fulton Montgomery CC, Davis passed out 368 assists, scored 451 points, grabbed 228 rebounds, and was credited with 109 steals.

Davis is the first Pioneer men's basketball player to earn USCAA All-American honors. Davis and the Pioneers were ranked as high as #15 in the USCAA Division I poll and finished the season 9-17 (12 games were decided by two possessions or less).
