Pioneers Could Not Overcome Late Bisons Rally

Washington, DC- Alfred State could not overcome a late rally as they fell to Gallaudet 38-24. The Pioneers fell to 4-4 on the season.

Justin Horvath went 19-32 for 284 yards and a touchdown, while Jake Palmer came away with two touchdowns. Ben Ba led the receiving core with seven catches for 126 yards and Jazir Francois added 83 yards on five catches. On the defensive side of the ball, Silas Egenlauf tallied 13 tackles while David Harrell added nine tackles, and Jeremiah Nixon came away with eight tackles.

Alfred got on the board first with a 27-yard field goal first Maxwell DeMare. The Bisons took the lead with a touchdown on their next possession. Later in the first quarter, Palmer capped a six play 51-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown.

Then in the second quarter, Gallaudet took a 14-10 lead with a touchdown. The Pioneers regained the lead on their next possession by way of another Palmer touchdown run. ASC would hold on to a 17-14 lead going into halftime.

After halftime, Gallaudet scored 17 unanswered points to take a 31-17 lead. Later in the fourth quarter, Horvath led a 10 play 69-yard drive and capped it off with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Ben Ba to cut the deficit to 31-24. The Bisons scored on their next possession to secure the win.
