Andrew Delligatti (Bedford Hills/Fox Lane) scored two goals and passed out two assists for Alfred State but St. John Fisher JV scored ten unanswered goals in a 16-7 victory.
The Pioneers came out fast and jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind goals by Delligatti, David Ford (Elmont), and Michael Maranga (Rockaway/St. Edmund). After a Fisher goal the Pioneers made it 4-1 on a goal by Marc Hernandez (Mastic Beach/William Floyd) with 3:05 remaining in the 1st quarter.
In the next 18:45 of the contest, the Cardinals scored ten unanswered to take a commanding 10-4 lead. Delligatti ended the run with his 2nd of the game with 13:00 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
The Pioneers would never get closer than 10-5. Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) and Nate Spoor (Penn Yan) closed out the scoring for the blue & gold.
Mike DeMar led the Cardinals with four goals and two assists while Matt Colicchia had three goals and three assists.
St. John Fisher JV held a 49 to 22 shot advantage and a 48 to 23 ground ball advantage.
The Pioneers have nearly a week off before returning to action on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. home contest vs. Niagara CCC.
