Curran Highlights Day One at NYSCTC Championships

 

Zach Curran (Williamson) highlighted day one for Alfred State at the NYSCTC Championships at St. Lawrence University.

Curran finished 8th in the pole vault (4.25 m) and sits in 6th place after day one of the heptathlon with 1,953 points. His highest scoring event of the day was the 60 dash where he earned 625 points by finishing in 7.78.

Also in the heptathlon, Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) is in 10th (1.795 points) and Alex Brown (Wellsville) is 11th (1,758 points). Joe Richardson (Geneva) was 13th in the long jump (6.02 m).

The women's 4x200 relay team of Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls), Elisabeth Butlak (Lake Shore), Ashley Silva (Geneseo), and Emmanuella Toussaint (Brooklyn/Clara Barton) finished 11th in 2:13.14 while the men's team of Nku Henry (Bronx/Cardinal Hayes), Kaieel Ward (Brooklyn/Thomas Jefferson), Tim Jackson (Buffalo/Charter School of Applied Technology), and Trevor Stiles (Hornell) finished 11th (1:39.62).

Eric Hulbert (Mexico), Stiles, Michael Girard (Phoenix), and Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) finished 12th in the distance medley relay in 11:33.95.

The action continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence.
