Track Finishes 13th at State Championships

Both the Alfred State men's and women's indoor track & field teams finished 13th at the 2017 NYSCTC Championships. The two-day event was held at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.

Zach Curran (Williamson) continued his solid weekend by finishing 6th in the heptathlon with 3,955 points. He scored 716 points in the pole vault on Saturday with a leap of 4.35 m. His total is now 4th best in school history.

Andrew Rubenstahl (Washingtonville) was 8th (3,339) in the heptathlon and Alex Brown (Wellsville) was 9th (3,313).

The women's 4x800 relay team of Kelly Healy (Maple Hill), Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville), Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), and Emily Brigman (Hamburg) finished 8th after crossing the finish line in 10:31.21.

Curran will head to the ECAC Championships next weekend at Ithaca.
