Pioneers Finish Third At The Midseason Meet

Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State women's swim and dive team takes home third out of six at the Fredonia midseason meet. The Pioneers scored 1350 points.

Mallory O'Keefe started the day with a win in the 1650 free. She touched the wall in 18:39.49, beating out her teammate Lydia Lapierre who came in second. O'Keefe also notched a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:23.01.

In the 100 free, Madison Snayczuk would get the win after pulling away from the pack to hit the wall in 53.98, Anna Ivery was a second behind her for third, Gabriela Leite finished in fourth.

Alyssa James notched a second-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:14.43. Then in the 200 breast, Emma Merrick took home third (2:34.43), while Orla Reilly finished fourth (2:36.15), and Mikaela Snayczuk finished fifth (2:36.67)

Then in the final relay of the weekend, the team of Ma. Snayczuk, Leite, O'Keefe, and Ivery win the 400 free relay with a time of 3:37.88. With that win the Pioneers swept the relay events for the weekend.

Head Coach Zach Healy went on to say, "We had a great weekend, we broke seven school records, three conference records, and made a strong statement. I love this team and the way they handled this week just goes to show how tough this team really is".
