Pioneers Take Down Wells And Pitt-Bradford

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State women's swim and dive team notched two wins over Wells 139-33 and Pitt-Bradford 137-61. The Pioneers tallied 13 wins on the day.

Emma Merrick picked up two wins on the day. In the 1000 free, she swam a 12:01.40 for first place. Merrick followed with a 1:04.67 finish in the 100IM for first place. Mikaela Snayczuk came in second in that event with a time of 1:05.51. Before tallying a first-place finish in the 50 breast. She led the pack with a time of 32.46, while Orla Reilly came in third with a time of 34.98. Reilly also came away with a second-place finish in the 100 breast.

Gabriela Leite also notched two wins. In the 50 free, Leite touched the wall in 25.56 seconds for the win, while Hailey Kumpf came in second (27.09 seconds). Leite got her second win in the 50 free with a time of 28.08 second. Behind her was Adriana Gill with a 30.06 for second. Lydia Lapierre came in fourth in that event but secured a win in the 200 free with a time of 2:09.31. Gill also took second place in that event.

In the 50 back, Anna Ivery got the win as she touched the wall in 29.83 seconds. Ivery also tallied a second-place finish in the 500 free, behind her teammate Madison Snayczuk who came away with the win. Ma. Snayczuk notched a second in in the 100 free, after touching the wall in 55.16 seconds. Behind her was Leite in second and Kumpf in third.

The final two wins in the individual events were Alyssa James in the 100 back and Mallory O'Keefe in the 100 fly.

Making her first appearance on the board was Haleena Reygers. She notched a win on the 1-meter board before taking second place in the 50 back and 100 back.

In the 200 medley, the team of Reygers, Mi. Snayczuk, O'Keefe, and Ivery got the win with a time of 1:58.05. then in the 200 free relay, the team of Ivery, Gill, Mi. Snayczuk, and O'Keefe came in first with a time of 1:43.55.
