Two Pioneers Earn AMCC Player Of The Week Honor

Alfred, NY- Men's Wrestler Sean Malenfant earns AMCC Wrestler of the Week after going 5-0 at the New Standard Invite to claim the 184-bracket title. While, Haleena Reygers took home Diver of the Week after a first place finish on the 1-meter board as announced by the conference office this morning.

Sean Malenfant claimed the 184-bracket title at the New Standard Invite over the weekend. He took down Eamonn Callaghan (Ithaca) with a fall in 2:25. In his next match, Malenfant got the 1:55 fall over Luca Romasco (York). In his final match of the day, he took down Nicholas Hall (Delaware Valley) in 1:17 to advance to the semifinals. Then on day two, he notched a 9-2 decision win over Rylan Moose (Marymount). Then in the final he would get a 15-8 decision win over 10th ranked Joel Martsinovsky (Stevens). Malenfant notched an escape followed by a takedown in the first period, before getting a takedown a two-point near-fall in the second round. In the third period, Malenfant tallied two escapes, and a takedown to secure the 184-bracket title.

Haleena Reygers made her first appearance on the board, as she notched a win on the 1-meter board (112.95) before taking second place in the 50 back and 100 back.
