Pioneers Are Sitting In Second Going Into Day Three

Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State men's swim and dive team is sitting in second place with 1130.5 points heading into the third day of the Fredonia midseason meet.

In the 100 fly, Ricardo Villarreal got the win with a time of 52.33 for first. Patrick Roberts came in fourth while Dominic Mintz finished in seventh. Stuart Yates also notched a win in the 100 breast after touching the wall is 58.00, and Derek Mrachko claimed sixth place. The final win for the Pioneers came on the 1-meter diving board, with Conor Compton tallying 498.20 points. Bryan Reichert came in third with a score of 399.40.

Then in the 400 IM, Jack Friedah took third place with a time of 4:27.31. He would also finish sixth in the 100 back, while Parker Brod came in eighth. In the final individual event of the day the 200 free, Alex Villegas (1:51.02) came in fourth, and Gregg Wenhold (1:52.01) came in sixth.

In the 200 medley and the 800 free, the Pioneers notched two second place finishes. The team of Friedah, Yates, Villarreal, Brod took home second in the 200 medley with a time of 1:37.63. Then the team of John Cadden, Dillon Madigan, Wenhold, and Mintz finished in second in the 800 free.
