Compton Set New Records, As Pioneers Lead After Day One

Webster, NY- The Alfred State men's swimming and diving team is in the lead at the end of day one. The Pioneers tallied 181 team points.

In the first event, the team of Jack Friedah, Stuart Yates, Villarreal, and Parker Brod notched a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.58.

On the diving board, Conor Compton became the first champion of the week with a win on the three-meter board. Compton scored a record setting 601.25 which is a school record, an AMCC Championship meet record and an AMCC conference record. Bryan Reichert tallied for third place with a score of 361.90.

Back in the pool, the team of Villarreal, Fred Ginder, Riley Hoyt, and Friedah came in fifth place in the 800-yard relay with a time of 7:12.88

The Pioneers return to the pool tomorrow at 10 am for day two of the championship.
