Pioneers Tallied Nine Wins On The Day

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's swimming and diving team secured two victories on the day, with a win over Wells 174-29, and a 159-70 win over Pitt-Bradford.

Jack Friedah tallied two wins on the day. First in the 100 breast, Friedah touched the wall first with a time of 1:04.76, Dillon Madigan was behind him in third with a time of 1:16.92. Friedah followed with a win in the 100IM, he pulled away from the pack and hit the wall in 56.83 seconds, Stuart Yates was behind him in second with a 1:00.09. Yates would also pick up a win in the 50 breast after going 28.07.

Alex Villegas also picked up two wins, in the 50 free he touched the wall in 23.30 seconds. Then in the 100 free, Villegas went 51.63 for first edging out John Cadden in both events.

The Pioneers would get three more wins in individual events. In the 50 fly, Micah Schwartz got the win after touching the wall in 25.89 seconds, Patrick Roberts was right behind him for second place. Then in the 500 free, Dominic Mintz picked up the win with a time of 5:14.51, while Collin Vimislik got the win in the 1000 free as he touched the wall in 11:39.94.

ASC also tallied three second place finishes. In the 200 free, Fred Ginder came in second (1:54.03), followed Gregg Wenhold in third (1:54.99). Then in the 50 back, Joseph Mariotti (28.84) finished second beating out Vimislik who came in third (29.79). Lastly in the 100 fly, Dillon Madigan came in second followed by Alex Mayen in third.

Over on the diving boards, Conor Compton won both the 1 meter (318.00) and the 3 meter (313.00). Jack Tonkin was second on both boards, followed by Bryan Reichert in third, and Jonah Prindle in fourth.

The team of Friedah, Mrachko, Roberts, and Wenhold came in first in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:42.92. In the 200 free relay, the team of Villegas, Vimislik, Wenhold, and Madigan finished with a time of 1:34.73 for first place.
