Compton Takes Third To Become A Three Time All-American

Greensboro, NC- Alfred State Diver Conor Compton garnered his second top-5 finish of the week to earn All-American status for the third time in his career at the NCAA Swim and Dive National Championship.

Compton took second in the prelims after scoring 497.10 this morning to earn a spot in the All-American finals. Then in the finals, Compton improved on his score in the finals, notching a 512.00 to take third place.

The sophomore tallied his highest finish at the National Meet, besting his previous high of fifth place. Compton finishes the week as the highest place finisher on both boards in Pioneer history.

Diving Coach Nick Beach said, "As a coach, I feel incredibly proud. Conor has worked extremely hard day in and day out all year. For someone to work so hard, and to get rewarded with such tremendous success is a wonderful thing to be a part of. He is a true competitor, and his mental and physical toughness is incredible to witness. I could not be more proud, and happy for him!"

Conor Compton added, "I'm absolutely pumped to end season on such a crazy high note. What a year I had packed full with so many wild experiences. This year is certainly one I will never forget. When you literally put your blood sweat and tears in to the sport that you love and you really get your head in the game you can do some really crazy things! Just make sure you take a second to look around because it goes fast!"
