Pioneers Have A Good Showing Against Hartwick

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's swimming team fell to Hartwick 161-101 on senior night.

Jack Friedah came away with two individual wins. His first win came in the 100 back with a time of 56.35. He followed with a 2:05.85 in the 200 back for first place. In the 200 IM, Friedah touched the wall in 2:08.30 for third place.

In the 200 free, Alex Villegas swam a 1:53.31 for third place, he would also tally a fourth-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:26.86.

Stuart Yates notched two second place finishes, the first was in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.06. Yates then swam a 2:23.23 in the 200 breast for second. Derek Mrachko was right behind him in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.34 for third place.

Ricardo Villareal tallied a second-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:59.68. Then in the 100 fly, he swam a 54.78 for a second place finish.

Parker Brod, Gregg Wenhold, and Fred Ginder finished the 50 free in second, third, and fourth respectively. Then in the 100 free, Ginder swam a 51.24 for second place, edging out Brod who swam a 51.99 for third place.

In the 200-medley relay, the team of Friedah, Yates, Villarreal, and Brod swam a 1:39.89 for first place. Then in the 200 free relay, the team of Brod, Wenhold, Villarreal, and Yates came in second with a time of 1:30.14.
