Alfred State Take Second At Midseason Meet

Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State men's swimming and diving team finishes the Fredonia midseason meet with a second-place finish. The Pioneers tallied 1666.5 points.

Starting on the 3-meter board, Conor Compton finished in first place with a score of 533.10. While Jack Tonkin took home fourth place and Byan Reichert finished in fifth place.

In the 200 fly, Ricardo Villarreal was the first Pioneer to touch the wall as he finishes in second place with a time of 1:57.09. Patrick Roberts came in third with a time of 2:03.24.

The Pioneers would finish the day with three third place finishes. In the 1650 free, Dillon Madigan came in third with a time of 17:59.24, while Alex Villegas finished in seventh. Stuart Yates would come in third in the 200 breast, with Derek Mrachko finishing in seventh. Then in the 100 free, Parker Brod came in third, followed by Gregg Wenhold and Fred Ginder.

Then in the 400 free relay, the team of Brod, Ginder, Villarreal, and Jack Friedah came in second with a time of 3:16.64.

Head Coach Zach Healy went on to say, "We had a great weekend, we broke seven school records, three conference records, and made a strong statement. I love this team and the way they handled this week just goes to show how tough this team really is".
