Wonica and Lovell Named All-AMCC

Alfred State softball players Kailey Wonica (Staten Island/Moore Catholic) and Krista Lovell (Addison) have been named All-AMCC. Wonica was a 2nd team selection at second base while Lovell was a 3rd team selection at first base.

Wonica had an impressive first year competing for the Pioneers. She led the team with a .469 batting average (46 for 98) with 10 doubles, one home run, and 21 RBI. She started in all 28 games and finished the year with a .475 on-base average and .602 slugging percentage. Wonica also had multiple hits in 16 games. She was 2nd in the AMCC in batting average, 5th in doubles, and 8th in RBI. In AMCC play, Wonica hit .500 (28 for 56) with eight doubles, one home run, and 11 RBI. 

Lovell finished the year with a .413 batting average (26 for 63). She hit six doubles, four home runs, and drove in 19. In her 22 games she accumulated a .513 on-base percentage and had a .698 slugging percentage. In nine games, Lovell collected multiple hits. She was tied for the AMCC lead with her four homers and her slugging percentage was 4th best. In AMCC action, Lovell hit .480 (12 for 25) with three doubles, three home runs, and 9 RBI.

Wonica and Lovell helped the Pioneers to their first appearance in the AMCC Tournament and first victories in tournament play. The team finished with a 7-21 overall record.
