Muhleisen's Hat Trick Leads Pioneers to Victory

Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) had a hat trick as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated Bryant and Stratton 4-0 on Wednesday evening. Muhleisen now has a team leading twelve goals on the year.

Muhleisen got the Lady Pioneers on the board just 2:48 when she maneuvered around the goalie for an open net. She made it 2-0 at 11:23 when her long shot deflected into the net. McKenzie Miller (Belfast) was credited with the assist. Miller made it 3-0 just over two minutes later when she scored on a direct kick.

Muhleisen accounted for the lone goal in the 2nd half when she completed the hat trick with a long shot that sailed over the goalies head.

Alfred State, unbeaten in their last seven games, held a 30 to 12 shot advantage (17 to 3 shots on goal). Morgan Schreiner (Spencerport) made three saves to earn the shutout.

The Lady Pioneers, 6-2-1, hit the road this weekend for a two-game road trip to Pittsburgh. They battle Penn State Beaver on Saturday (3 p.m.) and Penn State Greater Allegheny on Sunday (1 p.m.).
