Pioneer Q&A - Nick Padley

Each semester Sport Management students complete a field experience within the Alfred State athletic department. One of the assignments this semester for the field experience is that each member of the class profile a current student-athlete with a Q&A session.

Recently, Tsvi Weil interviewed Nick Padley. Padley is a senior catcher on the baseball team.

What are your expectations for this season? My expectation for this team is to make it to the USCAA College World Series. For myself, to finish with strong numbers to end my college baseball career.

What got you into baseball? Ever since I could walk, I had a ball and bat in my hand and just fell in love with the game and there was no turning back.

What is your best moment in sports? My best moment in baseball was when I hit a walk off homerun to send my team to the championship.

What is your favorite sports team? My favorite sports team is the Boston Red Sox

Who is your favorite baseball player? My favorite baseball player is Yadier Molina, catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.

If you didn't play baseball what would you play? Golf

What is your major? My major is Sport Management

What do you want to do after college? My goal after college is to work for a professional sports team

What brought you to Alfred State College? I was recruited here for baseball but I remember the first time I came on a visit, it just felt like home and everyone was very nice.

If you hadn't come here where would you have gone? Bowling Green University
