Baseball: 14-25

The Pioneer wrapped up their season this past week. They fell in two tight contests at Keuka (4-2 & 3-2) and split a season ending doubleheader with Pitt Bradford (W 3-2 & L 8-7).

Nick Padley (Buffalo/Sweet Home) wrapped up his career with a .417 batting average and 2 RBI this week. David Zuber (Honeoye Falls Lima) hit .364 with a pair of RBI,  Jesse Swan (Campbell Savona) reached base six times in his seven plate appearances, and Dan Woodward (Honeoye) was 3 for 6 with a RBI.

Conner Odonoghue (Avon) pitched a complete game seven hitter to earn the victory over Bradford while Brady Sass (Caledonia Mumford) tossed 10.1 innings with a 2.61 ERA.

This is the second straight season the Pioneers finished 14-25.

Outdoor Track & Field: Women - Women 11th, Men 13th at NYS Championships

The Alfred State women's track & field team finished 11th while the men's team finished 13th at the New York State Championships over the weekend at RPI. 

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) led the way for the Pioneers by winning the shot put competition. Her winning toss of 13.91 m broke her own school record and was 1.18 m further than the 2nd place finisher.

Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was 8th in the steeplechase finishing in 9:54.78. His finish time moves him to 10th on the all-time list and passes his high school coach.

The women's 4x800 relay team earned a spot in the ECAC Championships with a 8th place finish. The relay team of Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), Kelly Healy (Maple Hill), Mariah Smith (Hornell), and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) crossed the finish line in 9:56.20. The 4x100 relay team of Maddi McDonald (Lansing), Domonique Shirley (Bronx/Harry Truman), Alexis Carrington (Manhattan/NYC I School), and Angel Bresnahan (Mexico) finished 9th in 51.27 which is now 4th all-time. Shirley, McDonald, Healy, and Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge) ran the 4x400 in 4:14.96 to earn 10th place and tie for 6th best all-time.

The men's 4x800 relay team of Trevor Stiles (Hornell), Mitchell Marcin (Frontier), Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) andAustin Demberg (Minisink Valley) finished 10th in 8:30.17. Brandon Teboe (Falconer) was 10th in the pole vault with a leap of 4.05.
