Outdoor Track & Field: Women - T-35th at ECAC Championships

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) finished 3rd in the shot put as Alfred State wrapped up action at the 2016 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Westfield (MA) State. The Lady Pioneers finished tied for 35th in the competition.

Kothor registered a toss of 13.89 m in the shot put to finish 3rd in the field that featured 30 competitors. Kothor only trailed the winner Brandy Smith (Ithaca) by .25 m and was .5 m ahead of the 4th place finisher. Kothor was also 11th in the hammer throw with a new school record toss of 47.18 m.

The 4x800 relay team of Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), Kelly Healy (Maple Hill), Mariah Smith, and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) also competed at the ECAC Championships and finished 23rd with a time of 10:33.41.

The Lady Pioneers tied with Union, Colby-Sawyer, Springfield, Husson, Amherst, Williams, and Alfred University in 35th place in the team standings with six points. 60 colleges scored in the two day competition.
