Pioneers Score 100 in Victory

The Alfred State men's basketball team shot 60.9% from the field and hit triple digits for the first time this season in a 100-82 victory over Jamestown-Olean on Tuesday evening.  The Pioneers have now won three of their last five games and are 10-15 on the year and 2-9 in WNYAC play.

All five Pioneer starters finished in double figures led by Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney).  Hutson netted 24 points and grabbed seven boards.  Jamar White (Laurel, MD) added 21, Marquis Chatman (Allen, TX) had 18, Adam Fezza (Southhampton) chipped in 13, and Cristian Santana (Harlem Village Academy) scored 12.  Wade Franklin (Arkport) came off the bench and had nine points.

The blue & gold led 45-36 at halftime and finished 13 for 27 from three-point land.

Katrell Henry led the Jaguars with 29 points and Terrence Johnson finished with 24.  JCC-Olean dressed only five players.

Alfred plays their final regular season road game on Thursday when they travel to North East, PA to take on Mercyhurst North East.  Opening tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
