Phalen Named Athlete of the Week

Alfred State sophomore Keegan Phalen (East Aurora) has been named the Alfred State athlete of the week after leading the Pioneer lacrosse team with seven goals this past week including six in the team's victory over Cayuga CC

Phalen had a career day in the Pioneers 14-6 victory at Cayuga CC on Saturday. He found the back of the net six times (entered the game with seven goals on the season). He scored three of the team's five goals in the pivotal 3rd quarter that turned the game in the Pioneers favor.

Earlier in the week, Phalen was one of six different Pioneers that scored a goal in the team's loss to #3 Genesee CC.

On the year, Phalen has 13 goals and one assist.

Phalen and the Pioneers make their 2013 home debut on Wednesday when they host Finger Lakes CC at 4 p.m.
