O'Neil, Kremer, and Van Valen Earn Wins vs. Brockport
The Alfred State wrestling team fell 40-12 to Brockport in their 2016-17 home opener. Joshua O'Neil (Jasper Troupsburg), Konnor Kremer (Horseheads), and George Van Valen (Ithaca) all picked up victories for the blue & gold.
Brockport jumped out to an 28-0 lead before the Pioneers picked up three straight victories. O'Neil earned a 10-8 victory over Casey Provost in the 165 lb. match, Kremer defeated Richard Mills 5-2 at 174 lbs., and George Van Valen (Ithaca) pinned Cole Rock at 184 lbs. The Golden Eagles earned pins in the final two matches to seal the victory.
The Pioneers head to the John Carroll Duals on Sunday. They battle Otterbein at 10 a.m., John Carroll at 11:30 a.m., Lourdes at 1 p.m., and Adrian at 2:30 p.m.
