Pioneers to Compete in NCWA National Duals

The Alfred State wrestling team will head to Lynchburg, VA this week to compete in the 2017 NCWA National Duals. The event will be held at the newly built LaHaye Ice Center on the campus of Liberty University.

The Pioneers (4-3 in dual matches this season) have been seeded #9 in the tournament and will be paired with #2 Liberty and the NCWA team in Pool H. Alfred State will battle Liberty at 2p.m. on Friday and then the NCWA team at 4 p.m. The top two teams in the pool move on to the championship bracket which begins at 6 p.m. on Friday.

The action continues on Saturday and the Pioneers are guaranteed to wrestle three more times as the brackets play out until a champion is crowned.

In the national NCWA rankings George Van Valen (Ithaca) is ranked 5th at 184, Tristan Almeter (Iroquois) is ranked 6th at 165, and Konner Kremer (Horseheads) is ranked 12th at 174,
