Late Goal Lifts Potsdam Past Lady Pioneers

Karley Cree found the back of the net with 3:50 remaining to lift Potsdam to a 1-0 victory over Alfred State in day two action at the College Cup.  The Bears improve to 1-0-1 on the year while the Lady Pioneers are 0-2 on the young season.

Cree's connected on a shot from the top of the box that snuck in the upper portion of the net to account for the lone goal of the game.  Chloe Hay picked up the assist.

The Bears held a 20 to 11 shot advantage in the contest.  Emily Lapage made six saves to record the shutout.  Morgan Schreiner (Spencerport) made ten saves in net for the Lady Pioneers.

Danielle Richardson (Hornell) and Carissa Plesums (Warsaw) were named to the all-tournament team.

New England College wone the College Cup crown after earning a 3-0 victory over Alfred University on Sunday to finish the classic style tournament with a 2-0 record.

Alfred State is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Medaille for a 5 p.m. contest.
