Lady Pioneers Continue to Roll

The Alfred State women's soccer team continued their offensive outburst with a 7-1 victory over SUNY Cobleskill. The Lady Pioneers have won four straight and have outscored their opponents 22 to 3.

The Pioneers scored five unanswered goals in a span of 9:45 to take full control of the contest. Kaitlin Huyler (Jasper Trouspburg) scored in the 18th minute after getting a pass from Haley Vosburg (Fillmore). Vosburg made it 2-0 just 53 seconds later after getting a pass from Huyler. Huyler scored her 2nd in the 22nd minute knocking a rebound after a Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) shot).

Muhleisen capitalized on a penalty kick in the 24th minute and Chelsea Dunn (Newfane) scored in the 27th minute after getting a pass from Anna Rath (Medina) to cap the Lady Pioneers 1st half scoring.

Molly Spengler netted the Tigers lone goal of the contest at 35:00 after getting a pass from Heather Johnston.

Vosburg completed her hat trick with a pair of goals in the opening minutes of the 2nd half. Keri Teufel (Sachem) picked up the assist on the first and Muhleisen the assist on the second.

Vosburg finished the day with three goals and an assist while Huyler had two goals and an assist. Muhleisen had a goal and two assists.

Morgan Schreiner (Spencerport) made one save to pick up the win of in the net. Alfred St. held a 30 to 3 shot advantage (19 to 2 shots on goal).

The Lady Pioneers are back at it again on Sunday when they host Medaille at Noon.
