Pioneers Roll Past Express

Aurora, NY- The Alfred State women's basketball team outscores Wells in every quarter to get the 59-9 win. The Pioneers move to 2-7 on the season and 2-1 against conference opponents.

Sarah Somers led the way with 17 points. Anna Merry added 10 points, while both Taylor Benjamin and Taylor Searle ended the day with seven points and seven rebounds. Jaiden Williams came away with six points and Jenna George tallied five assists and five rebounds.

The Pioneers led from the jump as they closed the first quarter with a 19-0 lead. Their run continued into the second quarter, as Somers opened with a layup and a free throw. A few possessions later, she added another layup before knocking down back-to-back jumpers. Merry would knock down a three before the half.

The Pioneers carried their momentum into the second half to get the win and move to 2-1 in conference play.
