Alfred NY- Alfred State women's basketball falls to 3-10 on the season after dropping todays match to Mt. Aloysius 81-52. The Pioneers had two players in double figures, while the team shot 92.3 percent from the free throw line.
Sarah Somers led the way with 17 points and five rebounds. Taylor Searle tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Benjamin added six points, while grabbing 10 rebounds, and three blocks.
The Mounties jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter. ASC would put in back-to-back layups to cut the lead down to eight, 19-8, before MAC continued their run to end the quarter leading 31-17.
With the momentum, the Mounties continued their run as they never relinquished to claim the win.
