Hubick Named ECAC All-Star
Alfred State senior safety Steven Hubick (Paradise Valley, AZ) has been named to the 1st team ECAC Division III North Football All-Star team. Hubick is only the second Pioneer football player to earn ECAC postseason honors.
Hubick led the team with 110 tackles on the season. The 110 tackles is the most recorded by a Pioneer, and first to reach the 100 tackle plateau, in the four years that Alfred State has competed in Division III of the NCAA.
In seven games this season, Hubick recorded at least 10 tackles in seven games and had a season best 16 tackles vs. Apprentice. 58 of his tackles were solo (season high 12 solo tackles vs. Buffalo State) and 6.5 of his tackles were for a loss.
Hubick also was credited with one sack (vs. Dean), two interceptions (one vs. Rochester and one vs. Morrisville), and he blocked a kick vs. Dean.
Hubick joins Rasheed Williams (2014) as the only two Pioneers to be honored by the ECAC.
