Santiago, Potts, and Kraynik Take Home AMCC Athletes Of The Week Honors

Alfred, NY-  Three Pioneers excelled last week garnering AMCC Athletes of the Weeks honors.

Nayomie Ferrer Santiago- Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

The junior setter ended the weekend with three double-doubles, as she totaled 92 assists at a 8.32 assists per set clip, to go along with her 40 digs, 15 kills, and 14 aces. In the first game against SUNY Poly, she tallied 30 assists,16 digs, seven aces, and five kills. She followed that performance with a 37 assist and 14 dig double-double against SUNY Canton. In the match, she also added six kills and two aces. Santiago ended the weekend with 25 assists and 10 digs against Oswego. She also came away with five aces and four kills.

Garrett Potts- Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Pott supplied a majority of the Pio's offense last week scoring five of the six goals last week, that included two game-winners. The sophomore started the week with four goals against Pitt Bradford to secure a come-from-behind 5-3 victory. Then in the second game of the week he tallied an early penalty shot goal that turned out to be the only goal of the game. Behind that goal the Pioneers hung on to win against conference foe Penn State Altoona.

Molly (Oli) Kraynik- Women's Cross-Country Athlete of the Week

The freshman Kraynik notched her best finish of the season at the SUNY Fredonia Invitiational. She placed in the top-30 as she crossed the line in 26:13.8 for 26th place. That time puts her at fourth in the conference this season.
