Pioneers Tallied Their Fifth Sweep Of The Season

Pittsburgh, PA- The Pioneers move to 10-7 on the season with a 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-20, 25-21) over La Roche.

Racquel Gerstenberger tallied her second double-double of the week with 11 kills and 10 digs. Nayomie Ferrer Santiago had a good game with 38 assists, while Adeline Milligan and Alayna Tomlinson tallied double digit digs. Erin Gregoire and Caitlyn Gilman combined for 16 kills.

In the first set, the Pioneers found themselves down 10-5, before rallying to take the lead late. The set ended with a 7-1 run for the 1-0 set lead.

In set two, Alfred State was trailing 15-10, before Tomlinson and Gregoire sparked the ASC offense with two kills each. Following two Redhawks points, Tomlinson added another kill, before Gregoire tied the set at 18-18 with back-to-back kills. After a Redhawks error, Tomlinson notched an ace for the 20-18 lead. From there, La Roche had four error with a Gerstenberger kill to in the set.

Alfred carried that momentum into set three, to complete the sweep.
