ECWC Releases All-Academic Team
The Alfred State Wrestling team placed a program best 15 Pioneers on the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference All-Academic Team. This marks the fifth consecutive season our wrestling program has had an increase in members honored. Alfred State's 15 honored the 3rd most individuals out of the 10 member programs of the ECWC and Cale Bartosch and Blake Ilges become the programs 1st ever to earn Conference All-Academic honors four times.
The conference honored a record high 106 total wrestlers in this season's release, marking the fifth consecutive year that the All-Academic Team topped the 50-mark and third straight year with over 90 honorees.
Recipients of this honor must have a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average or higher (through the last eligible grading period of the current academic year) or have maintained a 3.20-or-better over the past two completed semesters. Wrestlers must also have competed in at least three separate events during the season to gain consideration. Freshmen and transfers that have been enrolled full-time for at least one semester are eligible to receive this honor.
