The Alfred State women's soccer team shutout Medaille 2-0 to improve to 4-1-1 on the season. The Lady Pioneers scored a goal in each half to win run their undefeated streak to three games.
Michayla Salatel (Geneseo) netted her second goal of the season just 2:18 into the contest when got a nice crossing pass from Allison Vargeson (Addison). The crossing pass left a wide open net for Salatel.
The game remained 1-0 until the 76th minute when Emily Wolf (Hornell) sent a hard line drive shot to the top of the net to notch her second of the season. Julia Yanarella (Wappinger Falls/Roy Ketcham) was credited with an assist.
The Lady Pioneers held a 19 to 7 shot advantage. Morgan Shreiner (Spencerport) made six saves in net to record her first shutout of the season.
Alfred State travels to Pitt-Bradford on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with the Panthers.
