Pioneers Defeat Behrend for Second Time. Jamison Makes Game-Winner

The Alfred State Men's Basketball team won a close game against Penn.- St. Behrend - .

The Pioneers fell early to the Lions by 4 points for the first 12 minutes of the the half. The Pioneers tied the game at 19 with 8 minutes left in the half. The rest of the half was back-and-forth with neither team getting more than a 4 point lead. Dylan Perry (Kingston, NY / Kingston) made 3 free throws after being fouled to give the Pioneers a 1-point lead heading into the locker room.

The Pioneers steadily increased their lead over Behrend, up to double-digits with 3 minutes remaining. The Lions put together multiple comeback efforts, with all of them being fought off by the Pioneers. The Lions eventually tied the game with 30 seconds left and gave the Pioneers one last possession

With 15 seconds left, the Pioneers called a timeout and drew up a final play. A pick-and-roll play led to a pass for Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY / East) led to a game-winning layup and a foul. Jamison hit the free-throw to put the Pioneers up three as time expired.

Some standouts for the Pioneers include:

 Cody Schneider: Schneider tallied 19 points. He shot 8-15 from the field and had 9 rebounds. 

Dylan Perry: Perry had 14 points and went 4-7 from the field. Perry also tallied 4 assists. 

The Pioneers play again at home on Saturday, February 18 against LaRoche. The Pioneers will be honoring their seniors before the 2 p.m. tip.
