Pioneers Collect Three AMCC Victories

A trio of Pioneers collected top honors in the AMCC on Friday as Alfred State continued action at the Allegheny Empire Swimming & Diving Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center.

Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood), Stuart Yates (Naples), and Austin Miller (Hornell) all collected top marks in the AMCC rankings. Perry was 3rd overall and 1st in the AMCC in the 100 back after registering a time of 52.19, Yates was 4th overall and 1st in the AMCC in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.14, and Miller was 3rd overall and took home the AMCC title on the 1m diving board. He scored 407.00 points in the competition.

Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) was 6th in the 200 fly (1:59.35), Nate Miller (Gananda) was 10th in the 100 breast (1:01.51), and Anthony Kahwaty (Jefferson Township, NJ) was 12th (1:02.12) in the 100 breast.

The 800 free relay team of Matt Walker (Kenmore West), Perry, Dale, and Kahwaty finished 5th in 7:17.89.

The Pioneers sit in 2nd in the AMCC standings with 360 points and 5th out of the nine teams with 594 points in the overall standings.

Final day action starts at 10 a.m. with preliminaries and finals slated for 5:30 p.m.
