Johnson and 4x400 Qualify for Atlantic Regionals
Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) and the 4x400 relay team qualified for the All-Atlantic Regionals next week with strong performances at the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawk Capstone Meet.
Johnson finished 2nd in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 m while the 4x400 relay team of Corey Seymour (Dryden), Brian Clark (Bethpage), Shawn Rosa (Middletown), and Cameron Chambers (East Rochester) was 6th in 3:25.04. Both performances qualified for next week's Regionals (Wednesday & Thursday) at St. John Fisher.
Other top performances included:
- Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) was 3rd in the long jump (6.62 m)
- Dylan Perlino (Holland) was 3rd in the discus (46.14 m) and 9th in the hammer throw (46.38)
- The 4x100 relay team of Cameron Howard (Brockport), Rosa, Rudewicz-Nepokroeff, and Esaias Brumfield (West Genesee) was 5th (43.78).
- Derek Walter (Lancaster) was 8th in the 400 hurdles (58.05).
The All-Atlantic Regionals begin on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. John Fisher.
